Types of heat-insulation

Mineral wool

The core of this material is flameproof mineral wool insulation of basalt fiber “ROCKWOOL” (Poland), “PAROC” (Lithuania), “Izomin” (Russia) mineral wool is used as for this kind of insulation.

Average density of wool is 110 kg/m3. Products of mineral wool relate to class of incombustible materials and correspond to fire safety regulations.

Mechanical and strength characteristics of mineral wool panels depend on fiber arrangement in wool structure. Compression strength increases with growth of the number of vertically oriented fibers. This type of fiber orientation is applied in ISOBUD panels.

The insulating materials made of mineral wool feature high resistance to chemical attack as they are chemically passive media. Application of mineral wool provides a high sound proofing of walls.

Specifications of mineral wool panels

Evaluation of strength and thermal characteristics of mineral wool panels is performed on lamels, which cut out in parallel to long side of panels and turned 90º to long axis. Mechanical loading and heat flow during the test is directed along the fibers.

Compression strength factor is maximum value of test without regard to linear deformation value.

Mineral wool considerably reduces the risk of coincident sound wave origination inside внутри cladding structure.

Polystyrene foam.

Cellular polystyrene is extracted from crude oil. The basic component of a material is styrene consisting of carbon and hydrogen.

The panels with polystyrene insulation are very light (two persons lift seven-meter panel); this helps to cut down expenses for basement, framework, construction engineering and manpower.

Significant advantage of polystyrene foam panels is their high moisture resistance, directly related to panel quality during installation and further everlasting operation: ingress of moisture into insulation and its retention in panel core is excluded; therefore, the risk of steel layer separation from insulation is reduced.

Polystyrene foam features:

• volume stability, that means resistance of self-compaction and contraction during operation.
• rigidity to freezing - defrosting cycles.
• rigidity to vapor permeability.
Polystyrene foam is low hygroscopic and it has good sound absorption.

Specifications of polystyrene foam, used for ISOBUD wall panels.

Polystyrene foam features low thermal conductivity, high compression strength, and remarkable dimensional stability. Closed pores prevent moisture penetration, thus the characteristics of this insulation material are preserved during operation.

Polystyrene foam advantages - low thermal conductivity, high mechanical strength; absence of poriness, practically zero water absorption, rigidity to freezing - defrosting cycles, endurance.
