General information on designing of panel enclosures.
Operating experience of buildings and constructions with enclosures of sandwich-panels with mineral wool insulation and foam materials has shown, that in specific cases, they can be damaged or even destructed for the following reasons:
• application of panels in undersigned conditions;
• low quality panels;
• infraction of transportation, storage and installation regulations;
• introduced errors in enclosure design stage.
In the design of enclosures, you should consider the following panel features depending on various load actions:
• While calculating panels in building and construction enclosures you should consider steady loads of construction weight, temporary wind, snow and assembly loads and thermal actions.
• In single-flight panels the internal strains from power loads appear and remain unchanged from thermal actions; significant deformations (deflections) appears from thermal actions in single-flight panels.
• In multi-flight panels the significant internal forces appear from force and temperature impacts.
• Color of external cladding impacts on values of internal forces and deformation of panels significantly.
• Wall single-flight panels , as a rule, are defined according to the second final condition, and wall multi-flight panels and all panels cladding are defined according to the first final condition.
• For wall temperature influences, and for panels of a covering (roofing, потолочные) – snow loadings are dominating.
• Thermal actions are dominating for wall panels, and snow loads are for cladding panels (roofing, ceiling).
At designing of enclosures with application of panels with a steel cladding under multi-flight schemes it is necessary to observe higher requirements to displacement limitation of load-bearing elements, to which panels are fastened, from enclosure plane.
Moistening of insulation in the cases of poor-quality packing, infringement of panel transportation, storage, installation and operation regulations of panel enclosure are detrimental to strength and elastic characteristics of steel panels with insulation. Decrease of panel strength characteristics with significant moistening has irreversible character.
In connection with the information mentioned above, it is necessary to monitor plane level of the mounted bearing designs to which enclosure panels should be fastened and provide protection of the average layer of the panels against moisture during construction (well-timed installation of shaped elements, covering the panels with polyethylene film, etc.).
In the design of enclosures it is necessary to carry out calculation of panels at two groups of final condition. For this purpose it is necessary to know elastic and strength characteristics of applied panels.
